1972 — 1982

From technical books to standards

Founded in the summer of 1972 as a modest firm specializing in the marketing of traditional technical books, BSB began its journey with a clear objective: to make technical knowledge accessible to industries and institutions. The road to its current form took shape in 1982, when it broadened the scope to include the distribution of national and international standards and codes—an evolution that has since positioned it as a premier provider in the domain.

1996

Digital publishing & libraries

Initially focused on printed formats, BSB soon embraced technological advancements, transitioning from microfiche to CD-ROMs. A pivotal moment came in 1996, when the company began electronic publishing of standards, laying the foundation for its digital future. This progression led to the launch of comprehensive online digital libraries that positioned BSB as a leader in digital standardisation and information access.

2013

Rebranding as BSB Edge

In 2013, the company rebranded as BSB Edge, marking a strategic shift towards innovation, accessibility and excellence. More than a name change, this repositioning reflected a renewed mission to envision advancements and lead with agility.
