1.0 Introduction
1.1 Scope and Purpose
This publication defines guidelines for the design and production of phototools used in the production of printed boards, including general considerations and detailed descriptions of the major methods used. The purpose of this publication is to illustrate generally accepted techniques presently in use. (The procedures described are not to be construed as standards since the state-of-the-art is constantly changing and may vary beyond the scope of this publication.)
1.2 General Considerations
All artwork elements will be viewed as generated from the primary side for both double sided and multilayer boards. Artwork elements are as rightreading positives except for plane layers generated by automated methods which may be right-reading negatives. (See section 3 for related terms.)
