1. Introduction
1.1 Purpose
This IPC White Paper is intended for a general audience of potential users of embedded passive (EP) components who are somewhat familiar with some portions of the technology, and want to better understand the cost/value proposition.
There are many sources for information on EP; unfortunately, while much detail exists that is also a problem: The information needs to be gathered from multiple sources and much information needs to be processed to make decisions.
In response to requests to IPC from members, this paper provides sufficient information for an initial assessment of the value vs. the cost of various EP technologies and guidance on how to proceed.
